JLPT N2 Grammar: どころではない (dokoro dewa nai)

Meaning: not the time for; not the place for; far from; anything but ~.

How to use:
Verb-casual + どころではない/どころじゃない
Noun + どころではない/どころじゃない

For example:
1. こう天気が悪くては海水浴どころではない。
kō tenki ga warukute wa kaisuiyoku dokorode wanai.
Bad weather like this is not the time to go to the beach

2. 仕事が残っていて、酒を飲んでいるどころではないんです。
shigoto ga nokotte ite, sake o nonde iru dokorode wa nai ndesu.
There’s still a lot of work to do, not the time to drink alcohol

3. みんなは眠くて喋るどころではない。
minna wa nemukute shaberu dokoro dewa nai.
Everyone’s too sleepy to talk.

4. 彼らはのんびりするどころではない。
karera wa nonbiri suru dokoro dewa nai.
They can’t even relax.
