1. ~ものを
Meaning:
Although / Even though / But (used to express regret, criticism, or frustration)
Structure:
Verb (plain form) + ものを
Example:
もっと早く言ってくれればよかったものを。
(もっと はやく いってくれれば よかった ものを。)
→ You should have told me earlier.
Usage Tips:
– Expresses regret or criticism about a result that did not go as expected

– The second clause usually implies a negative result or missed opportunity
2. ~とはいえ
Meaning: Although / Even though / Having said that
Structure:
Plain form (verb / adjective / noun) + とはいえ
Example:
冬とはいえ、今日は暖かいですね。
(ふゆ とはいえ、きょうは あたたかいですね。)
Even though it’s winter, it’s warm today.
Usage Tips:
– Used to show contrast or contradiction.

3. ~の極み(きわみ)
Meaning: The height / extreme of (something)
Structure: Noun + の極み
Example:
あのコンサートは感動の極みだった。
(あの こんさーとは かんどう の きわみ だった。)

– Used for extreme emotions or conditions (emotion, luxury, sorrow, joy).
4. ~かたがた

Example:

5. ~てやまない
Meaning: Wholeheartedly / Never stop (feeling strongly)
Structure:

皆様のご健康をお祈りしてやみません。
(みなさま の ごけんこうを おいのり して やみません。)
I sincerely and continuously wish for your good health.

6. ~限りだ(かぎりだ)
Meaning: Extremely / To the utmost degree
Structure: い-adjective / な-adjective + 限りだ
Example:
