JLPT N4 Grammar: いたす (itasu)

Meaning: to do (the polite form of する)

How to use:
お/ ご + Verb-ますstem + いたします

Explain:
You use いたす to say that you yourself will do something.

For example:
1. お席にご案内いたします。
oseki ni goannai itashimasu.
I’ll take you to your seat.

2. わたしは木村先生を６時までここでお待ちいたします。
watashi wa kimura sensei o rokuji made koko de omachi itashimasu.
I’ll wait for teacher Kimura here until 6 o’clock.

3. 飛行機の予約はわたしがいたします。
hikouki no yoyaku wa watashi ga itashimasu.
I’ll book the airplane tickets.

4. 大変お待たせいたしまして、まことにすみません。
taihen o matase itashimashite, makoto ni sumimasen.
Please forgive me for having kept you waiting so long.
