How to use: Vた／～という + ことにする

Example sentences:

友達に書いてもらった作文を、自分が書いたことにして提出した。
I submitted the essay I asked you to help me write as if it were my own writing.

ごみだけ拾って、掃除したことにした。
It’s just picking up trash but acting like you’re cleaning it up properly.
